Quality Engineer

Our customer is a market leading specialist in the manufacture and distribution of road building products and are looking to expand their Quality team in Tamworth
Summary of responsibilities:
To support the QHSE Manager in assistance with all functions of the Quality Department in the coordination, administration and documentation of processes, procedures and projects of all activities relating to the business requirements and integration of ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / OHSAS 18001. Reporting to the QHSE Manager the Quality Engineer is responsible for all Quality control related issues, ensuring compliance requirements are maintained to the company policies and standards. The preparation and completion as defined within the department objectives must be delivered on time and to the pre -defined standards set internally and to the guidelines for compliance by outside authorities or Certification bodies. The incumbent should be able to communicate confidently and effectively with Customers, Suppliers, Internal staff, and Management.
Travel readiness to customer and supplier sites is assumed as and when the business requires.
Specific responsibilities:
Ongoing development, maintenance and delivery in the effective use of the QHSE departmental KPI’s and business objectives to deliver year on year continuous improvement from supply chain through to end user
• Direct accountability in raising, leading and resolving issues relating to non conformance, engaging support as required from all areas of the business, tackling root cause analysis and implementation of agreed sustainable corrective actions
• Engage and communicate pro-actively on a daily basis with the manufacturing and technical departments ensuring scope for improvement opportunities are identified, defined and delivered through to conclusion
• Ownership and development of an integrated team in resolution of issues raised through the company CMS and SRR notification systems, providing status updates to relevant departmental heads as required
• Support activities in supplier partnerships for development opportunities during site audits, implementation and completion of key PPAP characteristics aligned to the company requirements
• Drive a cultural change in problem resolution in leading and mentoring teams in the use of 8D, Kaizen, Ishikawa, 5why, PFMEA and six sigma methodology
• Assist in supporting projects for development of a single flow SOP and control plan capturing goods In, technical, manufacturing and despatch sampling activities
• Instigate an SPC system working alongside manufacturing and technical, identifying predictive failure trend analysis and a cross functional leaner approach to everyday activities
• Manage non conformance through to resolution of issues arising from the Sample testing, inspecting, measuring and monitoring of products as pre-defined within the Quality / Technical frequency plan
• Improve and drive changes in conformance on new product introduction and change management (PSP) with an APQP mindset and project approach in ensuring control of product approval to the customer
• An active role in the ethos and creation of a marketing initiative to deliver improvements and be proactive in understanding the market needs and voice of the customer
• Support and improvement of the current manufacturing 5s program, ensuring customer visit readiness is assumed at all times
• Deputise for the QHSE manager as required and ensure effectiveness of the teams activities are maintained
• Any other reasonable tasks at the direction the management team.
Experience and Training:
Attributes desired in leadership capabilities, own initiative, power of endurance, team ethic, work attitude to succeed and support of key business areas. Transferable skills to maintain and promote company awareness, customer satisfaction, Green initiatives, 8D, Six Sigma, Quality tools, computer literacy, problem solving, management of own work, process improvements and supplier / new product development. A knowledgeable understanding of Quality Management in both systems and process in a manufacturing environment would be beneficial as would some sound knowledge of environmental and health and safety legislation.
Candidates must have held a position of quality engineer previously and have experience in lean manufacturing. They must have a hands on, motivated and dynamic approach to their work.

Our Tamworth based customer is currently looking to recruit an experienced Design Engineer to join their expanding team.

The company is a leading UK company specialising in the Design and Manufacture of Workholding Fixtures.
They have an established client base including blue chip companies in Aerospace, Power Generation, Automotive and Machine Tool Industries.
The company are currently running with a record order book with more and more customers relying on their expertise in Design and Manufacturing of Workholding Solutions. Hence the need to increase our team of design engineers.

Design Engineer - The Requirement:

Proven experience in design of workholding fixtures.
Capable of working with latest 3D Solid Modelling Packages(preferably Solid Works, NX6 or Inventor)
Able to take a job from initial conception through to detailed and checked production drawings
Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team

Job Details:

Hours of work - 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday

Plastic Fabricator/Assembly Technician

General electro mechanical assembly and finishing operations. You will also have a competence in plastic fabrication to include the welding, cutting of material and manufacture of plastic chambers and sub assembly thereof.
The ideal candidate will be proficient in reading electrical point to point drawings have some knowledge of GRP fitting and hold a fork lift truck licence.

CNC Maintenance Engineer

Experience essential on heavy industrial machinery and controls.
The role involves attending customers premises UK wide to diagnose, rectify and service their machinery.

Knowledge and experience of the service and maintenance of the follwoing machinery is required:
Makino, Mazak, Birdgeport, Doosan and XYZ
Along with knowledge and experience of the following control systems:
Fanuc, Heidenhein, NUM, Siemens.
The majority of customers fall within the automotive and aerospace industries, therefore relevant previous work history will be an advantage.
You will need to provide your own reliable transport and have your own tools. This position is ideal for a self motivated, reliable self starter who has excellent communication skills and is looking for the flexibility to predominantly work form home. You will enjoy flexible working hours, attending a weekly meeting with the employer and have the independence of working alone. The standard weekly hours are 40 and overtime will be paid over and above.

We are looking for a graduate in an electro-mechanical discipline with some experience in industry. Candidate must be professional, hard working, conscientious, disciplined, methodical and confident individual to work in a small manufacturing company. Company produces test equipment for automotive, aerospace and Surface Coatings Industries. The employee is to work under the directions of the Technical Support Manager and Operations Manager assisting in developing the companies range of products, responsibility for testing of chambers, the creation of Work Instructions and technical support.
Candidate will assist the more senior members of staff and will be exposed to all technical areas of company. Employee should endeavor to eventually take ownership of some projects and technical aspects of running the company. Idea is to bring employee through the company and train the individual up so they can take the responsibility of a senior technical role in years to come. Good work ethic and attitude essential.

Candidate will need:

• Good Electro-mechanical, electrical and electronic knowledge.
• Possible understanding of PLC functionality and knowledge of ladder code.
